  Strategic Content Tutor

West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for anticipated part-time positions of Strategic Content Tutor in the Learning Center’s Mentor Advantage Program. Responsibilities include supporting students by assisting them in implementing a system for understanding course content and completing academic tasks, including setting goals, choosing strategies to accomplish these goals, and self-monitoring the quality and efficiency of their work.

A Bachelor’s degree with expertise in one of the following areas is required: math/science, the social sciences, writing/ humanities, and business. In addition, applicants should have at least two years of teaching experience or background in an educational setting. Candidates should possess the ability to convey study and organizational strategies, an interest in developing a collaborative relationship with college-level students as they strive to attain academic success, and a willingness to learn guidelines prescribed in an established approach to teaching and modeling self-regulated learning. Assistant Professor - Criminal Justice

The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice and Political Science at West Virginia Wesleyan College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. Applicants should have a doctorate in criminal justice or a related discipline. ABDs will be considered. We are seeking a generalist demonstrating the ability to teach lower and upper level courses in criminal justice. Successful college teaching experience is required.

The successful candidate will teach both introductory and upper level criminal justice courses, serve as an advisor for criminal justice students, develop community contacts with criminal justice officials and professionals and participate in service to Department, College and community.

LBP Reading Clinician

West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for a part-time LBP Reading Clinician. The position is primarily responsible for teaching in the clinical reading program using Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. Teaching in this program involves diagnostic and prescriptive teaching of students with reading, spelling, and language processing needs; collaborating with the LBP Coordinator and other LBP Clinicians in testing, consulting and pacing the students enrolled in the program.

A Bachelor's degree in education or other liberal arts field, experience in teaching or tutoring individuals, and a willingness to be trained in the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes are required. The candidate should possess excellent reading, spelling and oral language comprehension, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment with other professionals and constituencies.

Administrative Services Assistant

West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Services Assistant. The position is responsible for assisting the Office of Student Accounts, Bulk Mailing Office as well as the Service Center with daily operational tasks.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to adapt to a dynamic work environment which may engage them in fielding phone calls and assisting students, assisting in the completion of a bulk mailing, or completing a print job. This position will require the successful candidate to have the ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule.

A high school diploma and six to twelve months related office experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. The successful candidate must be well organized; excellent communication skills; be able to operate copier machines; and have excellent computer skills.

Men's and Women's Golf Coach

The Department of Athletics at West Virginia Wesleyan College has an immediate opening for the part-time position of Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a successful NCAA Division II golf program.

Bachelor’s degree required. Previous collegiate playing and coaching experience preferred.
